Dr. Harris has been practicing medicine at Haslett Animal Hospital since 1988 after graduating from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU CVM) in 1985. Dr. Harris has continued to advance his knowledge with a focus on ultrasound imaging, dentistry, and orthopedic surgery. From a young age, Dr. Harris has always loved animals and it was his mom who encouraged him to pursue his dreams of becoming a veterinarian. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Harris spends his time with his wife (Becky) and their three children (Nathan, Abby, and Katie). Their family also includes their dog (Delila), cat (Carter), and six chickens. His hobbies include woodworking, swimming, yard work, and water skiing. During the summer you will find Dr. Harris surrounded by his family enjoying their lake house with fresh tomatoes, corn on the cob, and watermelon.
Dr. Remsberg earned her DVM from the University of Wisconsin in 1989. The most rewarding part of her career has been starting her own clinic in North Carolina, the Cat Care Clinic in Asheville, which she sold to be closer to her family here in Michigan.
Dr. Remsberg and her daughter, Naomi, have 3 pets at home: Bella, a Pitbull Terrier; Alisha, a Golden Retriever; and Apollo, the cat. In her spare time, Dr. Remsberg enjoys gardening, cross country skiing, biking, kayaking and reading.
Dr. Welch joined the Haslett Animal Hospital team in Spring of 2025 after earning her DVM at the Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine. She was originally born and raised in Upstate New York and completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Oswego in 2021. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is getting to meet new people every day and helping nurture the human-animal bond.
Outside of work, you can usually find her having board game nights with friends, finding some way to be outside whether it be kayaking, biking, skiing, or just enjoying the sunshine and a good book. She shares her home with her soon-to-be husband, Brock, and their three wonderfully goofy cats (Franklin, Holden, and Jethro). She also visits with her family often, making sure to love on their family dogs that they’ve had since she was a teenager (Baltic and Bear, pictured above).
Dr. Welch looks forward to meeting you and your furry family members and helping ensure the best care possible for your pets.
Dr. Burmeister has been a part of the Haslett Animal Hospital team since 2002 and has been in veterinary medicine for more than 25 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from MSU and her DVM from MSU CVM in 1991. The most rewarding part of her profession is witnessing the human-animal bond and the important role that pets play as a valuable member of the family. Through preventive medicine, she has the opportunity to keep them as healthy as possible and with their families for as long as possible. Dr. Burmeister has three children (Johanna, McKain, and Bryn). They also have four pets: Jake and Quinn (Labrador Retrievers); Bubbles (Border Terrier); and Play Dough (orange DSH). When she isn’t working, Dr. Burmeister enjoys gardening and cooking.
